Abid Raza is a citizen of Pakistan who was held in extrajudicial detention in the United States Guantanamo Bay detainment camps, in Cuba.[1] The Department of Defense reports that he was born on February 10, 1981, in Digary Sindh, Pakistan. His Guantanamo Internment Serial Number was 299.
Abid Raza was captured in Afghanistan in 2001 and transferred to Pakistan on September 17, 2004.[2]

A Summary of Evidence memo was prepared for the tribunal, listing the allegations that led to his detainment. His memo accused him of the following:[2]
- a. Detainee is associated with al-Qaida.
- The detainee admits going to Afghanistan to join the Jihad and fight the Hindus.
- Detainee was recruited by the Jamaat i-Islam organization to join the Jihad.
- Detainee received military training at a camp outside of Konduz. The training consisted of physical training, long marches, and AK-47 instruction.
- b. Detainee engaged in hostilities against the US or its coalition partners.
- Detainee traveled to Dashtearche, AF, with other trained fighters. He was armed with a Kalishnakov rifle and one magazine.
- Detainee admits going to the front lines with forty other fighters under the command of Sultan.
- Detainee fled his position in Dashtearche after that location received artillery fire. Detainee was almost immediately captured near Konduz.
Raza chose to participate in his Combatant Status Review Tribunal.[3] On March 3, 2006, in response to a court order from Jed Rakoff the Department of Defense published a five page Summarized transcript from his Combatant Status Review Tribunal.[4]
Abid Raza was repatriated on September 17, 2004.[2] He was held, without charge, for a further nine months, by Pakistani security officials upon his arrival in Pakistan.[5] According to the Daily Times he was detained in the Adyala prison in Rawalpindi for the first eight months.[6] The Daily Times also reported that he was interrogated by a special team composed of officials from several security agencies while being held in prisons in Sindh, Karachi, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas starting in April prior to his release in May 2005.[6]
